  • Education Committee: Help shape the future of our industry by developing dynamic programs, speaker lineups, and educational content for managers, board members, and business partners.
  • Expo & Tradeshow Committee: Be part of the team that plans and executes one of our most exciting events of the year! Work on vendor outreach, event logistics, sponsorships, and creative expo enhancements.
  • Golf Committee: Join in the fun of planning our annual golf outing โ€” from sponsorships to prizes to day-of coordination, this committee helps make one of our largest networking events a huge success.

CAI Announces New CEO

Announcing CAIโ€™s New Chief Executive Officer

We are pleased to share an important and exciting update regarding the future of Community Associations Institute (CAI).

Following Tom Skibaโ€™s retirement announcement in December, the CAI Board of Trustees swiftly initiated the search for a new CEO. In January, a CEO Search Task Forceโ€”led by Greg Smith and composed of experienced leaders from across CAIโ€”was established and partnered with executive search firm Spencer Stuart.

After an extensive five-month search, we are proud to announce that Dawn M. Bauman, CAE, has been selected as CAIโ€™s new chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2025.

Dawn brings over 30 years of experience and leadership to the role, having served in key CAI positions including chapter executive director, CAMICB executive director, and vice president of chapter development and relations. She is a trusted advocate and visionary leader committed to CAIโ€™s continued growth.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Tom Skiba for his 23 years of outstanding leadership, helping grow CAI to over 50,000 members and solidifying its status as the voice of community associations.
